51st European IFYE Conference

ISLE OF MAN 2009

A warm welcome awaits you if you book to come to the Isle of Man during 4^th – 11^th July 2009 when we will celebrate the 51^stEuropean IFYE Conference.

The Isle of Man Parliament (Tynwald) is the World’s oldest Parliament in continuous existence stretching back over one thousand years and there are many special outstanding events organized during the time of our conference, as intentionally, we arranged it to coincide with Manx National Week. Our hard-working committee has put together a very interesting programme – please check out the brochure and see for yourself.

The Isle of Man is justifiably proud of our spectacular countryside and coastline, our unique history, heritage, culture, traditions, our fine foods and renowned hospitality. You may know that numbers are limited to around 150 for our conference so you are encouraged to submit your application and arrange payment as soon as possible to secure your booking.

Unfortunately Saturday flights to the Isle of Man are limited as the airlines seem to cater more for the business traffic so there are more options during the week.

That said I have found that Aer Arran offer Saturday flights from Dublin and London City so if anyone can fly to either of these airports you should be able to pick up an Isle of Man flight.

I have only used the 09.40/11.10 return flight option as I thought it was the most reasonable departure time however there are other flight departure options on 11^th July leaving the Isle of Man at 06.45hrs and 17.20hrs

I have only use the 10.55 inbound flight option as I thought it was the most reasonable departure time however there are other flight options on 4^th July leaving Manchester at 07.10hrs and 19.00hrs.

Other main airports servicing the Isle of Man include Liverpool, Glasgow, Belfast International and London Luton.

The Isle of Man does not have any of the large budget airlines flying into the Isle of Man at present such as Easyjet or Ryannair.

International flights to the Isle of Man are limited and you will have to fly to England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or the Irish Republic
